Verdict at coroner's inquest held June 1st
before Messrs. Whitamore and Zau was as follows:-
"Deceased met their deaths from rifle and
revolver wounds sustained during a riot outside
Louza police station on May 30th 1925. When riot
culminated in an attack on the station, Inspector in charge gave the order (at 3.37 p.m.) to fire in order to protect the station and deaths of the above
mentioned ensued either at once or later as a result
of wounds received through carrying out of this
order."
2. Result of mixed court trial held on June
11st before Mr. Jacobs, the American assessor, was
as follows:-
Four of the ringleaders who were considered to have started the riot were remanded for one week; two of these were refused bail, the others were
allowed bail.
In delivering judgment, assessor as reported in the press, made the following remarks.
'As Court has already stated it is not passing Judgment on the action of the police in this case.
